Paston Heritage Society
I am a founder member of the Paston Heritage Society. Find out more about this important Norfolk family at www.thisispaston.co.uk Although the society has now closed we have left a healthy legacy of new information on the Paston family and their Norfolk homes. This year there is an exciting exhibition on John Fenn who first transcribed and published the Paston letters in 1787. It also includes information about his wife Ellenor an important social reformer and pioneer. It will be at the Bishop Bonner cottage museum in Dereham until October 29th 2022.
We have also funded a permanent exhibition at Paston church in North Norfolk where many of the family are buried. We hope to produce a history of the PHS this year as its growth and influence were remarkable for a little village history society.
The griffin was the crest of the Paston family. This one comes from the pew in Paston parish church where the Pastons used to sit.
